Ashford festival of railway modelling 12th & 13th April 2025

Ashford festival of railway modelling.

The festival is being organised by Ashford International Model Railway Education Centre (AIMREC) and takes place in Ashford Town Centre on the weekend of 12/13 April. Layouts are located in two adjacent venues EKC Ashford College and The Elwick Club
Brick Coast Main Line, the UK’s largest portable Lego Railway will be one of the highlights at this year’s event. Using over 150,000 bricks, models of Stonehenge, Locomotion Museum and the Forth Bridge will be linked together by over 100m of track featuring a variety of well- known locomotives skilfully created from Lego bricks! Visitors will enjoy 40 model railways in nine different scales and gauges, many coming to Kent for the first time.

Over the Festival weekend, visitors will also be able to visit the free exhibition on Ashford’s Railway Legacy presented as part of the nationwide Rail 200 event (open Saturday only) and Ashford Museum with their wide range of railway artefacts (open both days). Children’s activities will be taking place at the Craftship (Made in Ashford) and a beer festival in the Coachworks Ashford.
