Meet The Maker - Della from Dellalicious Designs

Say ‘Hi’ to Della! Della is owner of Dellalicious Designs selling her handmade frames and greeting cards in Made In Ashford. Della uses cards from old board games, vintage toys, 1950’s pin up playing cards as well as creating her own designs. Della is inspired by the vintage ephemera she collects. As well as collecting she runs a vintage stall, selling mid century homeware items.

When did you start your business? 

I started in 2014 doing the occasional market but didn’t really get going till about 2018

What inspires your work?

Along with making I am a graphic designer and vintage trader and both of these inspire each other. I love old printed designs, illustrations and ephemera, taking something old and unloved and up-cycling to show its beauty

Where do you find the materials that you work with?

They are all up-cycled from junk shops and jumble sales. I am always on the lookout for interesting pieces.

What do you do when you're not working in Made In Ashford?

I work as a graphic designer, and I do vintage markets in Kent and SE London.

What is your best seller?

My upcycled alphabet cards- simple mounted old game cards on recycled card with recycled coloured envelopes.
